About Our Firewood
Camden Sand and Gravel is a sister business to Friendly Fred's Tree Service, which is where all the firewood for Camden Sand and Gravel comes from. All firewood sold is premium quality hardwood including Iron Bark, Yellow and Grey Box and Red River Gum and other hardwoods.
Our firewood is sold by the cubic metre using our own cubic metre frame. The frame measures 1 metre by 1 metre by 1.2 metres. This is to allow for air-gaps. Check if competitors are allowing for the air gap as 1 cubic metre of wood will have a lot of air gaps, so you'll literally be paying for fresh air.
If you'd like to pick up a small cardboard box of firewood that can fit on your back seat for a BBQ, Pizza oven, out-door fire pit or just want a small volume, our 15kg to 20kg boxes.
Firewood as Sold
All firewood is sold with 24% moisture, which is the ideal. This figure is set by the Firewood Association Australia. Dryer than that, it doesn't burn or doesn't burn well.
Freshly Split Firewood
After being split, the wood can dry out faster. A little bit of moisture (24%) helps the wood to split while being burned, allowing it to burn better.
Fully Aged Firewood
All of our firewood is aged so that it is dried out (to 24%) ready to burn. With a mixture of different trees, our firewood is a perfect combination to hear your home.

Firewood is Cleaned of Bark
A timber trommel is a machine that the split firewood pieces have gone through. It removes the bark to clean the wood so that you're only burning high density, hardwood.

Your Delivery Options
Camden Sand and Gravel has two delivery services for you to choose from. Firewood is sold at a cubic metre rate. The delivery rate is dependent on your location and the time to travel to your premises.
Option 1 - Within 7 days
This is where can save money by allowing us to deliver sometime within 7 days when it works for us or when we're in the area making another delivery.
Option 2 - As Soon as Possible
This option is where we will deliver to your premises within 48 work hours at our standard price.
When you call to place your order ask about both prices so you can decide on the one that works best for you.
